Gemotions

John hummed tunelessly as he watered his prize-winning tomatoes. The early morning air was crisp and fresh, and the garden, bursting with life, soothed him. He took a deep breath, inhaling the rich, earthy scent of damp soil. Contentment settled over him like a warm blanket.

His phone buzzed. A text from his sister. "Have you seen this? It's your chili recipe!" The message contained a link.

John clicked on it, a vague sense of amusement beginning to bubble up inside him. The chili recipe, the one his friends raved about, the one he'd gotten from his grandfather, was now splashed across a national magazine, credited to a celebrity chef. He smiled, a genuine, easy smile that crinkled his eyes. Well, at least it was a good recipe.
